  • Access Health CT has extended its enrollment and renewal deadline until Jan. 31 for plans starting in February and is planning a new subsidy program with state officials to lower costs for eligible residents.  News 12 Connecticut
  • Connecticut Magazine’s health gift guide features local experts advising less screen time and more exercise to boost digital wellness. The guide lists items like blue-light blocking glasses, yoga mats, and resistance bands to help community members stay well.  The Hour

SPORTS NEWS

  • Former UConn hockey star Tage Thompson has been selected to represent Team USA at the Winter Olympics in Italy next month. He will be the only former Huskie on the team.  The Hour
  • The Connecticut Sun will continue playing at Mohegan Sun Arena in 2026 but talks suggest the franchise is likely heading to Houston later as negotiations for a sale continue + efforts to keep the team in-state have faced obstacles.  The Hour
  • The Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame inducted its 2025 class of seven sports figures, including NFL star Zach Allen and longtime coach Christy Hayes. The event marked the hall’s 20th anniversary and honored local athletic achievements.  The Hour
  • UConn men’s basketball won its first three Big East games by a combined 60 points, with reporter Jon Rothstein noting that the gap is widening between the Huskies and their rivals. The team will face Marquette Sunday before hosting DePaul and then playing Seton Hall on Jan. 13.  The Hour
