  • Tuesday night, the Norwalk Board of Education swore in four new members at Concord Street School and elected Howard White as chair in a 6-4 vote. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Lamont said the state's health insurance registration may extend beyond Jan. 31 into early March at the Capitol — federal subsidy uncertainty remains. Residents can reapply and update their coverage through Access Health CT.  The Hour
  • Connecticut’s new law fines drug makers who raise generic prices over inflation—effective Jan. 1 and now facing federal legal review from a national distributor group; state data from 2022 to 2023 showed these medications had the highest spending jump.  Connecticut Public

SPORTS NEWS

  • UConn forward Sarah Strong was named the 2025 USA 3x3 Female Athlete of the Year by USA Basketball after competing at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup last summer — she now leads her team in key stats this season.  The Hour
  • Jana El Alfy, the UConn reserve center, missed Wednesday’s game against St. John’s in Hartford after she suffered a concussion in Monday’s practice — coach Geno Auriemma said she is needed for the contest with Notre Dame in two weeks.  The Hour
  • UConn freshman Braylon Mullins scored a career-high 24 points and hit six 3-pointers as his team overcame an 11-point deficit to win 103-98 in overtime against Providence on Jan. 7 at Amica Mutual Pavilion (key game).  The Hour
