EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A WestEd report shows that Connecticut’s special education system met federal requirements but faces staffing shortages and delays that have affected complaint processes and service delivery. The education department is hiring legal help and planning to refine training and oversight to support over 94,000 students with disabilities. The Hour
- ➤ INTEMPO launched an artist-in-residence program on Jan. 5 that offers emerging young violinists a two-year residency with a $10,000 stipend, access to a historic violin — valued at up to $100K — and teaching and performance opportunities. - ➤ Norwalk Hospital opened its new Cohen Pediatric Emergency Center thanks to a $1.74 million gift from the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation.
