- ➤ The Planning and Zoning Commission approved Norwalk’s plan to buy a $1.1M plot at 6 Butler Street near Mathews Mansion so the city can improve access to Mathews Park—this proposal now goes to the Common Council for further action. - ➤ On March 26, Mayor Rilling announced that Jared Schmitt had been appointed as Norwalk’s new chief financial officer and he joined the City on April 2 to replace Henry Dachowitz, who left in December. - ➤ Connecticut lawmakers are debating a bill that would let incarcerated people ask for sentence reductions after a shorter waiting period—two years instead of five.
