- ➤ The Planning and Zoning Commission approved Norwalk’s plan to buy a $1.1M plot at 6 Butler Street near Mathews Mansion so the city can improve access to Mathews Park—this proposal now goes to the Common Council for further action. City officials said funds originally set aside for a 20-unit building will be used for paving projects due to a missed deadline—officials noted there is no solid design yet. Nancy On Norwalk
- ➤ On March 26, Mayor Rilling announced that Jared Schmitt had been appointed as Norwalk’s new chief financial officer and he joined the City on April 2 to replace Henry Dachowitz, who left in December. - ➤ Connecticut lawmakers are debating a bill that would let incarcerated people ask for sentence reductions after a shorter waiting period—two years instead of five.
