Norwalk held its annual Autism Acceptance event Tuesday on the Norwalk Green where a blue-lit gazebo shone as part of the Light It Up Blue campaign.

State Sen. Bob Duff presented a proclamation from Gov. Ned Lamont while Mayor Harry Rilling declared April as Autism Acceptance Month (honoring contributions by people with autism) (bringing local officials together).

On April 1, 2024, Mayor Rilling and other local and state leaders (including Governor Lamont, Senator Duff, and Commissioner Gilman) celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Norwalk High School and P-TECH building.

The project (which will save taxpayers $138 million with an 80% state reimbursement) will be move-in ready by fall 2027 with site work finished by fall 2028.
