On Dec. 28, a Bronx man pepper sprayed a Bloomingdale’s security officer during a robbery at Norwalk when two men and a woman stole 10 handbags worth $2,500—he was later extradited while a suspect from New Jersey awaits further charges.
On April 5th, 2024, Mayor Rilling announced that Person to Person and the Norwalk Housing Foundation were chosen as the beneficiaries for the Mayor’s Ball held on May 18th at the Italian Center in Stamford—both groups support local residents with food, scholarships, and emergency aid.
Doctors urged Norwalk residents to begin tick prevention measures this early spring as peak tick season arrives in June and July.
They recommended using repellent on skin and clothes, wearing long sleeves and pants, tucking socks, checking for ticks on people and pets, and removing any tick with tweezers with a fine tip—then starting antibiotics if needed.
