  • Electric Boat received a $1.3 billion contract modification from the U.S. Navy to support lead yard work on Virginia-class submarines with 91% of the work done at its Groton shipyard — the company will hire 8,000 people across Connecticut and Rhode Island this year.  The Hour

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Fairfield and other Connecticut towns earned Gold Status in Sustainable CT and are preparing for Earth Month when local events—such as Earth Day on April 22—invite community participation. Norwalk residents can explore sustainable finds at Eco Evolution and join region-wide celebrations for environmental awareness.  The Hour

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Connecticut law allows drivers to rest and sleep inside their vehicles at highway rest stops and service plazas but states they must remain with their vehicle because leaving it unattended overnight is prohibited. Some businesses permit overnight parking for RVs and campers so travelers should check local rules before staying.  The Hour

SPORTS NEWS

  • UConn coach Dan Hurley was booed at the Final Four in Indianapolis on April 4 and now will lead his team in Monday night’s national championship game against Michigan. He continues to balance his intense, on-court style with off-court focus on family & fans.  The Hour
  • The 1980-81 Norwalk High School team and the 1990 Masuk team will receive the Lee Franzman Outstanding Team Award on April 26 at the CT Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Dinner. Norwalk High earned its first state title and Masuk finished undefeated before this honor.  The Hour
  • Coach Dan Hurley dismissed ESPN reports linking him to North Carolina's head coaching vacancy — saying he will remain at UConn as the Huskies build on three Final Four runs. He remains firmly focused on his role after the recent coaching change in North Carolina.  The Hour
  • UConn coach Dan Hurley prepares for today's national title game at 8:50 p.m. as referee James Breeding, who has issued two technical fouls against Hurley this season (in 10 Huskies contests), calls the game—a matchup that could influence play.  The Hour
