Nearly 1,000 people gathered on Saturday afternoon at the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Memorial Bridge for a protest against attacks on civil liberties—dozens of Norwalk residents joined parishioners, educators, and students as police redirected traffic for safety.
Organizers urged participants to stay actively involved by voting, volunteering, and spreading awareness.
🏛️ Government
On Monday, Avelo Airlines confirmed it will run a charter program for DHS deportation flights from Mesa Gateway Airport using three 737-800 airplanes starting May 12.
The decision angered the New Haven Immigrant Coalition and Mayor Justin Elicker, who said the move conflicts with local values.

Sunset Stroll
The Sunset Stroll will be held at The Point at Norwalk Cove. We will have passed around appetizers, entrees, and a signature drink. We will have elected officials and program participants as speakers. We will also have scavenger hunt for the guests to learn about all of our amazing programs. There will be a silent choice auction and a live auction with amazing items.
