  • Forty-five members of the Connecticut Seaport Car Club visited the Malcolm Pray Achievement Center in Bedford, N.Y. last Sunday morning (just north of Greenwich) to view classic cars ranging from a red 1974 Karmann Ghia to rarities, and to learn how the collection inspires young people to succeed.  The Hour

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Connecticut rents slowed in April, with Norwalk prices falling 0.5% from last year and Danbury dropping 2%, while Greenwich saw a modest increase — some landlords also offered lease concessions to attract tenants.  The Hour

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • USDA agriculture secretary Brooke Rollins said Connecticut is near finalizing its $53 million block grant to help small and midsized farmers hit by severe weather in 2023 and 2024 — applications will open soon after final details are settled.  Connecticut Public

  • Connecticut's home care workforce faces challenges (including low wages, nurse shortages and an aging staff) amid rising demand for at-home services for the elderly and disabled.   • The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority's Time to Own program helps first-time and low-income buyers by offering up to $25K in forgivable loans and down payment assistance.
