  • On April 15, Environmental Conservation police in Stratford deployed K-9 Scup to locate illegally retained striped bass, and her handler found six fish hidden beneath a tree in a marsh — the fish, measuring 20 to 22.5 inches, were donated to a nonprofit for injured birds.  News 12 Connecticut

CULTURE NEWS

  • Boyz II Men, known for hits like I'll Make Love To You and End of the Road, will perform locally this summer, offering fans a chance to relive the group's classic tunes at a venue near home.  The Hour

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents and officials met Monday night at South Norwalk Elementary School to mark areas affected by flooding and discuss next steps for a flood resilience plan that uses survey data and community feedback; a final presentation of recommendations is expected later this year.  Nancy On Norwalk

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Amtrak has proposed closing five railway bridges in Connecticut on several dates from June 13 to July 9 to boost World Cup ridership at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Boaters have objected because the closures would disrupt the early summer boating season.  The Hour
  • Connecticut lawmakers approved a bill that requires balloon sellers to attach weights (to keep them from floating away) and reduces fines from $500 to $20 for unweighted releases. The measure, aimed at protecting local waterways and wildlife, now heads to the House for further review.  The Hour

  • CT Insider has launched a new Definitive Guide to Finding a Home in Connecticut to help homebuyers compare town data including home prices, taxes and schools—tools that are timely ahead of the summer moving season.   • UConn women’s basketball ended its season with a Final Four loss to South Carolina and saw Azzi Fudd drafted first overall as the team gears up for a revamped lineup next season.
