ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A car crash at Russell Speeder Car Wash in Norwalk injured three people when a driver struck five vehicles and was taken to Norwalk Hospital, and two others were also transported (conditions unknown) as police said the preliminary investigation deemed the incident accidental.  News 12 Connecticut

CULTURE NEWS

  • Filmmaker Todd Traina, a Connecticut College graduate, produced the New England-set film 'One Stupid Thing' that premiered at BIFF last April and won two awards—Linda Yellen earned an Indie Spirit Award for Best Director and the film received Best Picture—while its story follows teenagers whose harmless winter break game leads to a man's death.  The Hour

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Norwalk resident Michael Spremulli, a former student and music education advocate, said he is concerned that eliminating band and orchestra programs for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will harm students' growth — he urged parents, teachers, and alumni to speak up to preserve these vital opportunities.  Nancy On Norwalk

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Norwalk Common Council voted on April 22 to update the city’s waste ordinance by introducing standardized black and red trash bins in the Fourth Taxing District as part of a seven-year contract with WIN Waste Innovations — officials said bin deliveries will start in mid-May with additional public outreach planned.  Nancy On Norwalk
  • T. Chaz Stevens, a Florida resident who calls himself a Satanologist, threatened legal action against Hartford, New Britain, Waterbury, Torrington and Bridgeport after each city raised a Christian flag—he demanded they also display his banner for the Church of Satanology and Perpetual Soirée to ensure equal representation under the First Amendment, citing a 2022 legal case. A spokesperson in New Britain said the city follows a clear flag-raising policy while Waterbury and Torrington have not yet commented.  The Hour

  • Sunset Stroll

    The Sunset Stroll will be held at The Point at Norwalk Cove. We will have passed around appetizers, entrees, and a signature drink. We will have elected officials and program participants as speakers. We will also have scavenger hunt for the guests to learn about all of our amazing programs. There will be a silent choice auction and a live auction with amazing items.
