  • Norwalk residents can help fight hunger by donating nonperishable food on Saturday, May 9 by placing bags by their mailbox; letter carriers will collect the donations for local families in need.   • Norwalk High staged a teen version of 'Chicago' this past weekend at the auditorium (featuring standout roles by Velma, Roxie, Mama and Billy and a live band led by Chris Rivera) that filled parents and teachers with pride.  Nancy On Norwalk

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Connecticut legislators approved a bill to expand a pilot psychedelic therapy program (formerly serving only veterans, first responders, and health workers) to include patients 18 and older. Gov. Lamont is expected to sign the bill soon as Yale School of Medicine leads research on therapies for PTSD and depression.  The Hour

HEALTH NEWS

  • Keith Foisset Jr.—a stroke survivor since age 15—will serve as the featured stroke survivor and Red Cap Ambassador at the Fairfield Heart Walk & 5K Run in Westport on Saturday, May 9. His story aims to raise stroke awareness and inspire healthy living.  The Hour

SPORTS NEWS

  • UConn men’s basketball will start a home-and-home series with Ohio State, hosting the Buckeyes and traveling to Columbus in 2027-28 + the report noted this series is unconfirmed by the team.  The Hour
  • Daniel Hand senior Sean Arms broke New Fairfield's record by vaulting 16 feet, 4 inches a second time at the Middletown Varsity Track meet. He now aims to reach higher marks — 16-6 and 17-0 — at upcoming competitions.  The Hour
  • Darien's girls lacrosse team stayed unbeaten after scoring a 16-5 win over No. 3 New Canaan on April 30 and retained the top ranking in the May 6 Coaches Poll, extending its streak to 11 games plus reaching 20 consecutive wins since last spring.  The Hour
