  • Catholics across Connecticut welcomed newly elected American pope Leo XIV, who was chosen as the 267th pontiff on May 9, with hopes he will unite a divided world and continue Pope Francis’ legacy of compassion. Local worshippers at St. Matthew Church in Norwalk expressed excitement and confidence he will help ease global conflicts (including support for peace in Ukraine).  The Hour

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Norwalk Public Schools are planning for the next school year with a $14M shortfall after the city granted a 4% increase instead of the 9.7% requested. Rising special education costs and reduced COVID relief funds may lead to bigger classes and fewer support services—officials say they are searching for extra funding.  The Hour

  • On Saturday, Dwayne Koroma committed to UConn men's basketball out of the transfer portal—he is a 6-foot-8 forward who played at Le Moyne, Texas-Arlington and Iona and averaged 11.5 points and 7.2 rebounds last season.  The Hour

We will have elected officials and program participants as speakers. We will also have scavenger hunt for the guests to learn about all of our amazing programs. There will be a silent choice auction and a live auction with amazing items.
