CULTURE NEWS

  • The Norwalk Historical Society is hosting Rendezvous with Rachel Revere, a living history performance featuring Judith Kalaora portraying Rachel Revere, at Mill Hill Historic Park Town House on Sunday, May 17 at 2 p.m. Audience members will join a Q&A session following the event.  Nancy On Norwalk

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Norwalk Public Schools invites residents to join eighth graders exploring the city’s Revolutionary War history during a scavenger hunt that kicked off May 5 at Mill Hill Historic Park.   • Jasmine Prezzie (Director of the Norwalk Mentor Program and a Board of Education member) discusses how mentorship and updated mental health support are boosting youth success on today's Community Ties episode.   • Norwalk received $1.96 million in additional education aid this year through a supplemental grant calculated by raising the ECS per-student base from $11,525 to $13,087.   • Agencies employing homemaker companions must provide eight hours of paid training by January 2027 if Gov. Lamont signs the new bill. The law covers personal care, abuse reporting, and dementia support (and requires listing approved training programs online by Oct. 1).  Connecticut Public
