  • U.S. Postal Service carriers joined local leaders and Person to Person in Norwalk for a rainy kickoff of the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive to aid food pantries. The carriers collected donations from mailboxes and brought extra bags to centers in Stamford and Darien, while Mayor Rilling said the drive will help those facing food insecurity amid high living costs—building on nearly 22,000 pounds collected last year.  Nancy On Norwalk
  • A local mayoral candidate wrote a letter discussing the unexpected closure of Yard House at the SoNo Collection and asking if Norwalk’s size can support large chains.   • FCA is asking more Norwalk residents to become foster parents during Foster Care Awareness Month so that children in care can stay connected to their schools and neighborhoods. CRIME NEWS

  • Landlord Heather Dennis said her Norwalk home suffered nearly $100,000 in damage after tenant Sarah Smolak abused and neglected up to 17 dogs while illegally boarding them—Smolak now faces 40 counts of animal cruelty, including two in Norwalk on May 28 and 38 in Torrington on July 1.  News 12 Connecticut

  • Norwalk officials are weighing the installation of artificial turf fields as experts warn that PFAS contamination poses health and environmental risks from exposure.
