COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Howard Dixon, a 23-year Air Force veteran, served as grand marshal for Norwalk’s Memorial Day parade on May 26—he said the role allowed him to honor those who gave their lives for freedom. His wife and the mayor noted that after previously declining the honor, his decision this year shows his quiet dedication to the community.  News 12 Connecticut

CULTURE NEWS

  • Norwalk residents can now use a library pass to get free access to the Met—patrons may bring one additional adult and up to four children under 12 and receive discounts on museum dining and shopping.  Nancy On Norwalk

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Five residents listened and spoke at an Ordinance Committee meeting to support automated traffic safety devices—citing speeding problems and safety concerns from past accidents. A majority of committee members advanced the proposed ordinance to the Common Council, while one commission member opposed it.  Nancy On Norwalk

SPORTS NEWS

  • Transfer guard Kayleigh Heckel signed with UConn on Monday—she played 34 games as a freshman at USC and averaged 6.1 points and 1.9 assists. Born in Greenwich and raised in Port Chester, she has three seasons of eligibility and will join coach Geno Auriemma's team.  The Hour

We will have elected officials and program participants as speakers. We will also have scavenger hunt for the guests to learn about all of our amazing programs. There will be a silent choice auction and a live auction with amazing items.
