Connecticut State Police responded to over 5,000 calls over the holiday weekend—making 1,347 traffic stops, arresting 36 people for suspected DUI and handling 271 crashes, with 26 crashes causing injuries and two resulting in deaths.
Norwalk's historic Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum reopened Tuesday morning after more than two years of renovations—State Sen. Bob Duff, Mayor Harry Rilling, and vice chairman Patsy Brescia cut the ribbon.
The museum will officially welcome visitors starting June 4—showing new mechanical upgrades, restored spaces, and important artifacts.
The EPA awarded Connecticut $209,000 for beach water quality monitoring to alert the public if bacteria levels become unsafe—this grant is part of over $1.1 million provided to New England for coastal safety.
The funds will be released once legal and administrative steps are met and will support testing at state and local beaches.
