City officials, community leaders, and workforce trainees launched Norwalk’s Green Workforce Training Program Thursday at Cranbury Park—this initiative, a partnership with Keep America Beautiful and Open Doors funded by a USDA Forest Service grant administered by CT DEEP, will offer 100 hours of paid landscaping and urban forestry training to residents facing employment barriers. Trainees will plant and care for up to 200 native trees over the next two years in areas that need more green space.
