Staples High School juniors in Westport launched Lead Watch (a website that maps lead in tap water using free test kits) and earned the EPA President’s Environmental Youth Award; Noah Systems is also providing support for installing flushing systems in schools.

Six GametimeCT Top 10 boys lacrosse teams advanced through quarterfinals on April 25, and semifinals for Classes (LL, L, M, S) will be played Wednesday at neutral sites with winners meeting on June 14 at Fairfield University's Rafferty Stadium for state finals.

Staples boys lacrosse defeated Wilton 10-6 in the CIAC Class LL quarterfinal on Saturday, June 6 & they will face New Canaan in the semifinals later this week.

Junior Hunter Pallai scored four goals as Staples advanced in the playoffs.

CIAC softball semifinals occur Monday and Tuesday at West Haven High School and Eastern Connecticut State University as eight teams in four classes vie for a championship slot on June 13 — standout pitchers like Cheshire’s Jenica Matos and Darien’s Vivian Knott lead teams into high-stakes matchups.
