EDUCATION NEWS

  • Connecticut stayed 8th nationally in children's well-being from education and health data but dropped in economic and family measures according to the 2025 Kids Count report published yesterday. Lawmakers passed a bill on Tuesday to expand free infant, toddler and pre-K care—an effort to improve early childhood education while vital support programs face potential cuts.  Connecticut Public

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Yesterday, the Norwalk Board of Education accepted an agreement that saves teaching jobs by reinstating planned art and music positions and adding $3 million from state funds and $3 million from city funds to complete a $15 million budget—officials praised the move and said the board will soon vote on the initiative.  News 12 Connecticut
  • Gov. Lamont said he will sign the sweeping omnibus housing bill only after lawmakers agree to key changes—especially giving towns control over where new housing is built. He said parts of the bill go too far and must be fixed to help lower rising costs and support economic growth.  Connecticut Public
