The Norwalk Department of Recreation and Parks released a summer brochure offering plans for kids and adults such as a Hands-Up Boxing camp for kids from July 6 to August 24 at 61 Main St for $200, LEGO Summer Camp from August 11 through 15 at the Senior Center, and a tie-dye festival postponed to August 2 at Taylor Farm—also providing free Fresh Air Fitness classes, beach yoga, Zumba sessions and $5 swim lessons at Calf Pasture Beach.

Marshal Cohen explained that a professional pool service cost about $350 to open, clean and shock a pool, while doing it yourself costs roughly $48 for chemicals—town pools charge $10 for adults and $7 for children and country clubs require membership fees of $18,000 to $24,000.

Norwalk Public Schools will present a revised 2025-26 operating budget that restores elementary band and strings programs—along with additional student-facing staff positions—after receiving $6 million from the city and state.

District leaders are cutting $2 million with internal reductions and will meet with unions and parent groups to finalize staffing decisions.
