The African American Association of Norwalk is hosting its second annual Juneteenth Celebration Weekend at Veterans Memorial Park on Seaview Avenue with fun, food, and music honoring Black heritage (June 19 at 6 p.m. to June 21 at 8 p.m.).

Norwalk city council approved a $478,000 contract with Titan Enterprises to restore the old jail at 35 Smith St into a museum that preserves local history and pottery exhibits—work will finish next spring with the museum opening in fall.

CT native Ben James, a 23-year-old from Milford who led at the Canadian Open, shot a 1-under 69 in Thursday’s round and finished tied for sixth at 2-under in Friday’s U.S. Open second round at Shinnecock Hills.
