- ➤ Veteran journalist Mark Davis, known for his 36-year career at WTNH covering major state events, died at 76 on Tuesday morning—Gov. Ned Lamont called him a Connecticut icon. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting in July, Metro-North monthly ticket holders can ride on most Saturday trips without extra cost – the discount lasts until Aug. 26 and does not cover the Port Jervis and Pascack Valley lines. Riders can also add up to two extra passengers for $1 per person each way using standard purchase options. The Hour
- ➤ Gov. Ned Lamont vetoed House Bill 5002 on June 23 because local and suburban officials opposed state mandates on affordable housing targets—he also vetoed Senate Bill 8 and said stakeholders will work on a new proposal within 90 days. Nancy On Norwalk
- ➤ A celebration Friday marked the removal of several oil tanks at the former Manresa Island power plant site as officials and community members began turning the industrial waterfront into a public park. Local, state, and federal officials & project partners praised the milestone that cleared 76,000 square feet for environmental testing while a meeting on July 13 will reveal a master plan for the site.
