- ➤ Creed frontman Scott Stapp said he underwent knee surgeries earlier this year and now follows a strict recovery routine while admitting that aging has brought new challenges—he is set to perform with Creed in Hartford on July 22. The Hour
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ City and school officials met on Monday at Brookside Elementary to update residents on HVAC work at six public schools—projects partly funded by a $21.5 million state grant and a $14.3 million city investment; work at Brookside began this summer and is set to finish by December while other schools plan updates through summer 2026. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Ned Lamont vetoed a bill that would have allowed towns with fewer than 16,000 residents to overturn DEEP permit decisions, saying the change would create uncertainty in the state’s current public engagement process & hurt business investment and predictability. Lawmakers would need a two-thirds vote in each chamber to override his decision, but that is unlikely given current party support. The Hour
