- ➤ Connecticut passed a law that lets Governor Lamont send a petition to the federal government to produce a generic version of Ozempic if no court blocks the move and the petition is approved by Aug. 7; state officials say the measure may lower costs for Medicaid and state employee health plans—though the governor has voiced concerns about its scope. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Lamont signed a new state law that will let discount prescription purchases count toward insurance deductibles – a change aimed at lowering drug costs – and the law commissions a study on importing medications from Canada, which will take effect on Oct. 1. The Hour
- ➤ Gov. Ned Lamont signed a law on Thursday that bans step therapy for rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and mental health drugs—insurers can no longer force patients to try cheaper alternatives first.
