Wegmans opened its first Connecticut store in Norwalk Wednesday morning with staff cheering as a large crowd explored its fresh and ready-to-eat foods.

City officials praised the opening—saying it brings new energy and business to the area.

Police arrested Diego Hernandez-Corba—30 years old from Queens—for a burglary during last January at a Westport home where residents found forced entry and over $50,000 in jewelry and handbags missing; investigators reported blood at the scene.

Norwalk Public Library at 1 Belden Ave will host a free screening of Yesterday on Sunday, July 27 at 1:30 p.m.—a Movie Weekends event organized in partnership with Norwalk Film Festival for local movie fans.

Norwalk Public Schools announced Tuesday that Naramake Elementary, Nathan Hale Middle, and Roton Middle Schools were authorized to offer International Baccalaureate programs (Naramake earns the Primary Years Programme and the middle schools the Middle Years Programme).

This milestone advanced the district's goal of creating a complete K–12 IB pathway that prepares students for a changing global environment.

Crews began repairing a sinkhole on Route 113 near Sikorsky Airport (just past the end of the runway) using a large crane while the road has remained closed (since last month) as no repair date has been announced.
