GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mayor Harry Rilling discussed his decision not to seek re-election and his more than 10 years in office during a new Community Ties podcast.   • Norwalk commissioners tabled a proposal to redevelop 108 Water St. — a 2.72-acre waterfront parcel — citing concerns over flood resilience and harbor operations. The joint venture between Spinnaker Acquisitions and the Gersten family awaits DEEP feedback and zoning approvals, with the commission set to revisit the application next month.  Nancy On Norwalk

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • On July 10, the Norwalk Housing Authority broke ground on a $47 million redevelopment project at Meadow Gardens in South Norwalk—planning to build 59 affordable apartments and a 4,200-square-foot community center with a gym and Learning Center. The project will offer units for households earning 30% or 50% of the area median income and is expected to reopen early 2027.  The Hour
