Several Haitian-Americans in Fairfield County, led by Norwalk businessman Guy Bocicaut, are urging immigrant workers to join a general strike on November 18—when they will also be encouraged to stop shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to protest xenophobic actions.
Organizers plan the boycott to highlight immigrants’ economic impact and call on business owners to show support for immigration reform.

Connecticut’s new 'Pizza State' license plates hit the roads this week and over 600 drivers have already applied; buying one helps feed a family in need.
Gov. Ned Lamont showcased the first sample at a Wallingford food pantry (where standard plates cost $65 and vanity plates cost $134) and Foodshare expects the sales to raise several thousand dollars for 25,260 households.
🏈 Sports
Three UConn football players were named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 watch list including Norwalk's Cam Edwards, who led the Huskies in rushing yards last season.
The watch list features top players eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft and the Shrine Bowl will be held on Jan 27, 2026 (at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Tex.).
