- ➤ The Festival de Santa Ana took place this past weekend in Norwalk and featured music shows, a statue procession, and a mass at Santo Tomás Apóstol—organizers celebrated its 111th anniversary with family games, local crafts, and Italian food like pizza fritta. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Connecticut Attorney General William Tong asked regulators to reject Yankee Gas’s plan to raise rates—this increase would cost customers an extra $43 a month—because the $193 million request is above what he considers fair. A draft decision will come on Sept. 22 and a final ruling will follow on Oct. 28 while Yankee Gas says the funds are needed to repair old pipes. The Hour
- ➤ Connecticut may see new nuclear energy sites as a law now gives up to five million dollars for towns to study reactor options — each town must vote before any building starts. Gov. Lamont said the change will help meet a need for more reliable, cost-effective power. Connecticut Public
