- ➤ Veteran comedy star Whitney Cummings, co-creator of 2 Broke Girls, will perform two shows at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. as part of her Big Baby Tour that highlights her life as a single mom — after her Connecticut stop she will perform in Huntington before heading overseas. - ➤ On August 5th, Norwalk launched a survey to gather input from residents, artists, business owners, and visitors on the city’s first comprehensive Arts — Cultural Plan that will guide public art, investment, and programming for the next decade. - ➤ Disney on Ice’s Jump In! will perform at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport from Nov. 20—23 while presale tickets are available and families can add a pre-show Character Experience to meet Moana and Mickey Mouse. - ➤ A new report indicates that Connecticut renters must earn over $73,000 a year to comfortably afford a two-bedroom apartment at a fair market rent of about $1,800. The report shows that rental costs have risen by $2,000 compared to last year—making areas like Norwalk and Stamford some of the most strained housing markets, and it calls for stronger renter support measures.
