- ➤ Connecticut's Sales Tax-Free Week will begin Sunday with most clothing and footwear under $100 exempt from sales tax until Aug. 23—Annette Norton of Saavy and Grace in Westport said her store will see a 20% increase in business this week. News 12 Connecticut
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Connecticut Office of Higher Education announced that the Student Loan Reimbursement Program will reopen for applications on Aug. 15 to help borrowers get up to $5,000 per year for student loan relief. The program now includes expanded criteria—such as broader educational and volunteer experiences and special provisions for Stone Academy students—to reach more state residents. The Hour

- ➤ Norwalk is the first city in the state to use a new law to recover nearly $500,000 in unpaid zoning fines from 15 properties with violations dating back to 2020.
