GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State officials said that new federal cuts will cost Connecticut an extra $32 million for SNAP in fiscal year 2026 and nearly $43 million each year starting fiscal year 2027—plus the state will pay an extra $130 million annually for food benefits beginning in October. - ➤ The Department of Justice announced a proposed settlement with Greystar to stop using pricing algorithms that share competitors' data, a practice seen as harmful to fair competition. If approved by the court, Greystar—one of the largest landlords managing nearly 950,000 rental units including some in Connecticut—will need to change its pricing methods. The Hour
