Ørsted said its Revolution Wind project is 95% complete with 61 of 65 turbines installed (off the Rhode Island coast) and the remaining turbines set to be installed over the coming months, reaching full commercial operation by the end of the year.
The project is the first offshore wind installation supplying Connecticut customers and assembles components at New London's State Pier.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection will pilot a new alert system this fall that sends text+email notifications about sewage spills in rivers and streams.
Residents can subscribe to alerts from their towns when the system goes public by the end of the year.
