- ➤ A barge stuck on the Norwalk River since Saturday was freed Wednesday after workers removed 1,600 tons of gravel—allowing a tugboat to pull it clear of its lodged position. Harbormaster Bruce Lovallo said the six-and-a-half-hour effort restored the waterway so the Norwalk Boat Club can resume boating this weekend. News 12 Connecticut
