Raymond Hessel, 85, died in Norwalk after spending hours trapped under his bed at an unlicensed elder care facility where families paid as much as $8,500 monthly, and police later charged a caretaker (Lydia Lungile) with first degree reckless endangerment and cruelty to persons amid lawsuits alleging fraud and unmet care promises.

Beef prices at Norwalk-based Stew Leonard's have risen 10% over the past 60 to 90 days, according to Paul McLean (the chief merchandising officer) as sales remain strong and families face higher costs at the store.
