Owner Clyde Ripka announced on social media that Ripka’s Beach Café at Calf Pasture Beach will close in the next week or two after serving beachgoers for 13 years—his decision was made quickly after months of planning.

Local residents and officials praised the café—sharing memories and kind words as they reflected on its impact in the community.

Today, Connecticut high schools will compete in the FCIAC fall tournaments with updated schedules posted on the scoreboard; boys soccer quarterfinals feature Norwalk facing Staples at 3:30 p.m. while additional matches in girls soccer, volleyball, field hockey & swimming events are set for later in the week.
