  • Norwalk holds its annual Halloween Nightfair today on Washington Street from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.   • A letter to the editor from a local resident calls for 21 redevelopment ideas in SoNo, urging the City to move misplaced offices from the old Brewhouse and enforce blight orders on run-down spaces—plans that include adding crosswalks and converting empty lots into retail zones.   • Sally's Apizza is expanding its chain in Connecticut with three new special edition locations: one at the SoNo Collection in Norwalk expected to open between the fourth quarter of this year and the first quarter next year and an 8,000-square-foot restaurant in Danbury set to begin construction in 2026 with a projected opening in 2027. A location at Foxwoods Resort will feature modern design and memorabilia—showing the chain’s fast growth—with no set opening date.  The Hour

  • Lisa Brinton, an independent candidate for the Norwalk Board of Education, is running to improve transparency in the school budget, streamline overlapping departments, and raise classroom standards. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Connecticut senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal wrote a letter opposing the new SCORE Act because it would give the NCAA an antitrust shield that could strip student athletes of their right to fair pay—Senators warned that the bill would allow colleges greater control over licensing deals and endorsements.  The Hour
  • The U.N. flag was raised today at Norwalk City Hall to mark its 80th anniversary — Mayor Harry Rilling declared a proclamation recognizing international peace and security while the U.N.   • Connecticut officials said that if the shutdown continues into November, SNAP benefits will not be distributed, which could leave hundreds of thousands without essential food support. The state advises SNAP recipients to use all October benefits and to seek help from local food banks—many of which are increasing funding to meet the expected demand.  The Hour
