EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Oct. 21, high school students led a forum hosted by Norwalk Acts—together with the Center for Youth Leadership—where eight Board of Education candidates answered questions on mental health, technology and equity. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Independent Party candidate Joseph S. Tamburri, a longtime public servant in Norwalk, died Oct. 16 and his name remains on the November Common Council ballot per state election law; if elected, his party will appoint a replacement. - ➤ Developer Steve Shapiro of Easton is preparing a formal proposal to present to the White House for a $50 billion bridge that will link Bridgeport to Long Island—he said the project will ease traffic and boost the local economy while federal funds are expected to cover the costs instead of state taxpayers. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Championship week for girls swimming and diving spans divisions including CCC West, East, South, North, FCIAC, NVL, SCC, and SWC; teams like Ellison Charette and Greenwich will try to regain the FCIAC title from Ridgefield—schedules show meet times and venues from Cornerstone in West Hartford to East Lyme Aquatics Center. The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts proudly presents the explosive Broadway musical Footloose, opening Thursday night, Nov. 13 at 8 PM at The Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport and runs through Sunday, Nov. 16th.
