COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Longtime WTNH anchor Darren Kramer announced Tuesday he will retire after more than 25 years on CT airwaves—his final newscast will air on Friday, November 21. He said he looks forward to traveling with his wife and spending more time with his family.  The Hour
  • About 500 flags are now displayed in Norwalk to honor veterans ahead of Veterans Day next week—organized by the Norwalk Exchange Club and the Frank C. Godfrey American Legion Post 12, the tribute will remain on view until November 15.  News 12 Connecticut

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Norwalk-based industrial-equipment maker Terex announced a merger plan with REV Group on Oct. 30 in a stock-and-cash deal that will combine their operations and have Terex exit its aerials business. The merger is expected to complete in the first half of next year with Terex shareholders receiving about 58% control of the new company—promising a larger, more diverse industrial leader.  The Hour

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Local officials and nonprofit leaders warned on Friday that the government shutdown will cut additional SNAP funds starting tomorrow—affecting over 9,600 Norwalk residents. They urged residents to seek assistance at the Community Resource Hub at City Hall and through local food programs.  Nancy On Norwalk

SPORTS NEWS

  • All-FCIAC fall teams have been announced for sports including boys and girls cross country, field hockey, girls swimming and diving, plus boys golf from local schools such as Darien, Greenwich, and Staples—first and second teams were chosen based on the athletes’ performances. Coach of the Year Paul Purdy from Danbury earned his honor as the lists reflect a competitive season ahead.  The Hour

    The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts proudly presents the explosive Broadway musical Footloose, opening Thursday night, Nov. 13 at 8 PM at The Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport and runs through Sunday, Nov. 16th. Brimming with vitality, heart, and hit songs, Footloose showcases the Conservatory’s outstanding musical theatre students in a production that celebrates the power of expression and the joy of dance and brings fresh life to this beloved story of a small town finding its rhythm again.
