- ➤ Norwalk voters heading to the polls Tuesday will support those in need through the 18th Annual Norwalk Election Day Food Drive as local volunteers step in to collect donations at all 12 polling sites—bins marked with a 'Donate Here' sign. - ➤ Dozens of neighbors near A.J. Penna & Son Excavating Contractors have long complained about excessive noise and dust as Vincent Penna seeks to expand his business. Penna said he would work with the community to fix the issues—while the Planning & Zoning Commission will vote on his request at its upcoming Wednesday meeting. The Hour

- ➤ After local leaders criticized her April comments on the conflict in Gaza, Patti Smith returns to Connecticut for her Bread of Angels book tour—she will meet fans and share details of her new work. The Hour
- ➤ On Oct. 18, more than 150 guests attended the LMMM Luminous Future Gala where the museum presented the Luminous Future Award in recognition of its $18 million in mechanical upgrades — officials honored Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, Mayor Harry Rilling and Vice Chairman Patsy Brescia. Guests previewed new exhibitions including Striking Gold: Artists on Wealth and Worth and Bulls of Wall Street while silent and live auctions raised over $130,000 to support the museum’s cultural and educational programs. - ➤ A winning Cash 5 ticket sold at a CT Ave gas station in Norwalk was claimed Tuesday by a Connecticut Lottery player from Bridgeport — another $100,000 ticket bought at a Mobil in Wethersfield remains unclaimed as of Wednesday morning. The Hour
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials celebrated the $1.3 million Hospital Hill Village District project on Oct. 28—adding new crosswalks, sidewalks, parking and bike racks to improve safety near the hospital. Leaders said the project was finished ahead of schedule and under budget thanks to a $1.5 million city investment and $800,000 from the Community Connectivity Grant Program—resolving past traffic and parking issues in the area. - ➤ Connecticut officials announced that $8M in federal training funds will be delayed until after the government shutdown ends, with the money set to help workers in shipbuilding, advanced manufacturing, IT and healthcare. The grant will support on-the-job training and apprenticeships through five workforce boards in Bridgeport, New London, New Haven, Waterbury—and Hartford. The Hour
