EDUCATION NEWS

  • Norwalk schools lost 213 staff members last school year—many leaving after a contentious budget session that led to cuts in special education, math, and science, with the largest loss at Brien McMahon High School. District officials noted the departures came amid ongoing staffing challenges and public outcry over budget decisions.  The Hour

  • UConn forward Alex Karaban returns to Boston’s TD Garden today for a homecoming game against BYU at 7 p.m. on FOX — he plans to thrill fans with his signature dunks, recalling a memorable breakaway dunk from the Elite Eight.  The Hour
  • No. 6 St. Joseph beat No. 3 Wilton 24—12 on Friday night at Fujitani Field as its strong defense blocked kicks and forced turnovers, handing Wilton its first loss of the season while ending its 10-game winning streak.  The Hour
  • UConn football will host Air Force today at noon at Pratt & Whitney Stadium in East Hartford for its final home game of the season. UConn holds a 7-3 record while Air Force sits at 3-6, and key players such as quarterback Joe Fagnano, linebacker Bryun Parham, and wide receiver Skyler Bell have earned award and bowl nods + the game will air on CBS Sports Network and local radio.  The Hour

    The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts proudly presents the explosive Broadway musical Footloose, opening Thursday night, Nov. 13 at 8 PM at The Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport and runs through Sunday, Nov. 16th. Brimming with vitality, heart, and hit songs, Footloose showcases the Conservatory’s outstanding musical theatre students in a production that celebrates the power of expression and the joy of dance and brings fresh life to this beloved story of a small town finding its rhythm again.
