  • Local officials and members of the Hindu community joined the annual SewaDiwali Food Drive on Saturday morning outside the Norwalk Police Department on Monroe Street, donating nearly 1,700 pounds of food and $9,000 to Person-to-Person's food pantry.   • Stew Leonard’s viral butter-dipped ice cream—which is made with soft serve dipped in melted butter—is now sold for $5 at stores in Norwalk, Newington, and Danbury after a video by Stew Leonard Jr. gained over 16 million Instagram views.  The Hour

  • The FDA announced yesterday that several pecorino romano cheese products sold at Big Y and Wegmans in Norwalk were recalled due to listeria contamination. Ambriola Co., a New Jersey manufacturer, said consumers should return or dispose of the products for a full refund and noted that no illnesses have been reported.  The Hour

  • Norwalk officials approved a six-story, 32-unit apartment building on Day Street in July with a 6—3 vote. The plan calls for demolishing two buildings—including the distillery building that is now seeking a new location—while retaining a 56-unit apartment and scheduling site work to begin in at least nine months.  The Hour
