  • Fresh Monkee, a national protein shake chain started by a CT mom, opened its new Norwalk location at 10 Merwin St this week. The chain partnered with actor Mario Lopez and plans to add five locations statewide by year-end.  The Hour

  • Norwalk’s Lockwood Mathews Mansion Museum invites visitors to experience its Enchanting Lights – Toys: Illuminating the Holiday Season exhibit after a two-year renovation.   • Gov. Ned Lamont used $70M from the state surplus on Thursday to extend AccessHealthCT healthcare subsidies for over 100K low- and middle-income families. He encouraged residents to check the program website while legislative leaders review the proposal.  The Hour

  • Gov. Ned Lamont detailed a plan Thursday that will help some health marketplace customers cover premium costs next year + residents must apply by Dec. 15 to secure coverage starting Jan. 1.  Connecticut Public
  • The FDA expanded its recall of ByHeart baby formula sold since March 2022 after 51 infant botulism cases were reported nationwide; Connecticut's health department has urged parents to discard any recalled products for safety (no cases have been recorded locally).  The Hour
  • Connecticut health officials confirmed on Wednesday the state's first measles case since 2021. The patient is an unvaccinated child (under 10) from Fairfield County who developed cough, runny nose, fever and a rash after international travel, prompting vaccination reminders.  Connecticut Public

  • UConn men's basketball will complete its nonconference schedule tonight at PeoplesBank Arena + face Texas at 8 p.m. The Huskies aim to keep their 4-1 record against power-4 teams before beginning Big East play on Tuesday.  The Hour
  • Today, No. 5 UConn will face Texas at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford at 8 p.m. Texas coach Sean Miller, previously at Xavier, highlighted UConn's fast transition and screening offense that could challenge his team.  The Hour
  • Former UConn champion Stephon Castle has joined Connecticut Sports Group to build Connecticut United FC—a pro soccer team in Bridgeport set to join MLS Pro in 2026 along with a women’s team in 2028—reflecting his pride in local sports.  The Hour
