  • Fairfield students from kindergarten through ninth grade loaded an AMR ambulance with donated toys so the Goldstone-Piccirillo Foundation could soon deliver them to children in need.  News 12 Connecticut

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Norwalk school board unanimously approved a $263M budget on Tuesday night to stabilize the district amid ongoing staffing challenges in local schools. The proposal adds nearly $16M in costs—including a $10.7M increase for salaries—and will next be reviewed by the Common Council Finance Committee in February.  The Hour

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • CT Against Gun Violence is pushing for new legislation to require trauma-informed school lockdown drills to better support students still affected by past events. The bill passed the House but lost Senate backing, so proponents plan to reintroduce it in February.  Connecticut Public

  • No. 1 UConn women's basketball meets No. 11 Iowa in a rematch of the 2024 Final Four at Barclays Center in Brooklyn Saturday at 1:30 p.m. UConn, in its last top-12 game this season, hopes to bounce back as Iowa looks to repeat last year's upset.  The Hour
