- ➤ Several Haitian-Americans in Fairfield County, led by Norwalk businessman Guy Bocicaut, are urging immigrant workers to join a general strike on November 18—when they will also be encouraged to stop shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to protest xenophobic actions. - ➤ Connecticut’s new 'Pizza State' license plates hit the roads this week and over 600 drivers have already applied; buying one helps feed a family in need. Gov. Ned Lamont showcased the first sample at a Wallingford food pantry (where standard plates cost $65 and vanity plates cost $134) and Foodshare expects the sales to raise several thousand dollars for 25,260 households. - ➤ Three UConn football players were named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 watch list including Norwalk's Cam Edwards, who led the Huskies in rushing yards last season.
