- ➤ Raymond Hessel, 85, died in Norwalk after spending hours trapped under his bed at an unlicensed elder care facility where families paid as much as $8,500 monthly, and police later charged a caretaker (Lydia Lungile) with first degree reckless endangerment and cruelty to persons amid lawsuits alleging fraud and unmet care promises. - ➤ Beef prices at Norwalk-based Stew Leonard's have risen 10% over the past 60 to 90 days, according to Paul McLean (the chief merchandising officer) as sales remain strong and families face higher costs at the store. The higher prices may change how customers buy beef and give local farmers a chance to compete in the coming months. The Hour

- ➤ Gov. Ned Lamont erased the records of 81,000 people in a New Haven church as part of Connecticut’s CleanSlate program—once delayed by IT problems—that is now set to clear up to 125,000 convictions by mid-November. The law, passed in 2021, aims to remove barriers to jobs, housing and education for eligible residents. The Hour
